Jacob grew up in Eastern Iowa on a Black Angus farm, where hard work and responsibility were part of daily life. From a young age, he was actively involved in 4-H, sports, and community activities, which taught him the value of teamwork, leadership, and giving back. These experiences shaped his character and instilled a deep respect for discipline, perseverance, and service to others.
Jacob went on to study Horticulture at Iowa State University, where he combined his agricultural roots with a passion for learning and growth. A pivotal chapter during his college years came when he pursued an internship in Uganda, teaching agriculture to fifth graders and working in the school gardens. This experience broadened his worldview and revealed his true calling: working with people, empowering them, and helping them achieve their goals. It was here that he first understood how meaningful it is to guide others toward growth and success.
Following graduation, Jacob began his career in the greenhouse industry, applying his education and building valuable professional experience. It was during this time, at a wedding, that he met Dan O'Mealey. Our conversation about investments and wise financial practices sparked a mutual interest, and shortly after, Dan invited him to consider a role in financial advising. Several months later, he successfully passed the Series 65 exam, officially beginning his journey as a Financial Advisor and opening the door to a profession where he can unite his passion for helping people with the discipline of financial planning.
His background growing up on a farm, serving in his community, teaching abroad, and developing a strong work ethic has led him to this role. As a fiduciary, he is committed to putting clients first, offering objective guidance, and providing personalized strategies that align with their values and goals. He believes that true success is measured not only in financial returns but also in the trust and confidence clients place in him. Every step of his life journey has reinforced the importance of service, integrity, and helping others thrive—principles that guide his work every day.
